The Sport Industry NextGen Leaders receive a tailored year-long Leadership Package which includes extensive training, personal development and networking opportunities.
Please note: Events will be delivered either virtually or physically, depending on government guidelines at the time.
The Kick-Off is the beginning of the programme, where the Sport Industry NextGen Leaders participate in a range of tasks that will be the foundations of a valuable network whilst helping them to sharpen their own leadership skills. The Coaches observe and engage with the Leaders as they challenge them to take risks, learn and demonstrate their leadership capabilities. This will be an opportunity for the Leaders to make an impression with their peers and with the Coaches, for what will hopefully be an ongoing relationship as they continue to progress through their professional life.
Following the afternoon, the Sport Industry NextGen Leaders will have the opportunity to socialise over drinks and take part in the #SINextGen Quiz – the ultimate test of sport industry knowledge, with their fellow Sport Industry NextGen Leaders.
Extensive Training Sessions
The Sport Industry NextGen Leaders will get direct access to some of the brightest minds and best organisations within sport and business for interactive best-practice, learning, and leadership sessions.
The sessions will cover key subject areas such as:
- Building and Running a Successful Business
- Diversity & Inclusion
- People & Culture
- Pitching & Presenting
These sessions will allow the Leaders to learn, broaden and demonstrate their understanding outside of their areas of expertise, and challenge them to become talented leaders.
Tough Mudder City - Morden Park 5K
Tough Mudder, the ultimate obstacle course event, has been bringing extraordinary experiences to everyday people for a decade. Coming to Morden Park for the first time ever on Friday 8th October 2021 the Sport Industry NextGen Leaders will tackle a 5km course featuring 13 of Tough Mudder's best obstacles, including much-loved favourites Everest, Pyramid Scheme and The Gauntlet. With no timing chips or podiums this challenge isn’t about being the fittest or the fastest, but embracing teamwork and camaraderie, and having a damn good time.
After receiving their coveted headband at the finish line, the Sport Industry NextGen Leaders will hear from Tough Mudder CEO, Kyle McLaughlin on the challenges they've faced, how they've adapted over the last year and their commitment to community inclusivity. Because Tough Mudder believes that with teamwork, mental grit and courage, you can overcome any obstacle in front of you.
Twickenham Spartan Stadion 5K
Almost 3000 years ago, the Stadion, a test of speed, strength and willpower, was born at the first Olympic games. Today, Spartan honours that tradition – taking over iconic stadiums around the world with fierce competition and camaraderie. On Friday 10th December 2021, the Sport Industry NextGen Leaders will test their mettle at the iconic Twickenham Stadium by taking on the epic 5K course, including over 20 unique and challenging obstacles, from low crawls to rope climbs, from fire jumps to spear throws. As a group, this challenge will test their resilience, stamina and quick decision-making skills – strengthening their ability to support each other and work as a team.
After the finish line drink, the Sport Industry NextGen Leaders will have exclusive one-on-one time with the Founder and CEO of Spartan, Joe De Sena. He's an energetic entrepreneur, a lifestyle icon, a best-selling author, a wall-street trader and most importantly an esteemed leader.
Sport Industry Private Dining Club
The Sport Industry Private Dining Club is an exclusive, invitation-only members club meeting four times a year at some of the best venues in London. The Club is designed as a relaxed forum for senior industry leaders to host clients, partners or key contacts and exchange ideas and network with like-minded professionals. Members include top level representatives from leading brands, rights holders, agencies and organisations from across the sport industry. Members bring a different guest to each gathering, ensuring the network remains refreshed, with a new mix of influential, senior business leaders at every event. We also invite a speaker to say a few words and enjoy dinner with the attendees in an informal and relaxed setting.
As soon as the Club is back up and running (depending on government guidelines), the Sport Industry NextGen Leaders will receive an invitation to one of the 2021 events.
Informal drinks and occasions throughout the year for the Sport Industry NextGen Leaders network to develop the strong bond and community between the alumni from across all the different year groups.
