Global Executive Director of Women’s Game, COPA90
Bex Smith first came to prominence as a World Cup and Olympic footballer, representing New Zealand, climaxing her club career by winning The Triple with VfL Wolfsburg – including the UEFA Champions League, German League, and German Cup. During her time as a professional footballer she earned her degrees in Economics, Spanish, an MBA, and Masters in Psychology while her professional career has seen her work in marketing, sales, legal, production, and starting her own company.
Since then she has worked for FIFA as Manager of Women’s Competitions and Strategic Planning delivering the Women’s World Cups, as an independent consultant, as an Executive Producer for JAMAA Productions in LA, and is now Global Executive Director of Women’s Game for COPA90, the global authority on football culture specializing in world-class storytelling.
At COPA90, Smith oversees the commercial, editorial and marketing delivery of a business-wide initiative to normalize women's football, developing their proposition for partners and brands for the 2019 Women’s World Cup and beyond.
With an international perspective, she was born and raised in the United States, played international football for New Zealand and professionally in Australia, Sweden, the US and Germany, and speaks four languages.
