Founder, Sutherden Consulting
Andy Sutherden has been in the middle of some of the industry’s most celebrated sports marketing campaigns for more than 30 years.
As a brand marketing and communications expert, he has helped deliver a host of industry firsts: from supporting Korea’s successful bid to be the first co-host of a FIFA World Cup in 2002; to managing sponsorship comms for the Premier League’s first title sponsor, Carling; to recommending and successfully negotiating Gillette’s first ‘global face’, David Beckham; to serving as one of the lead consultants on P&G’s first corporate brand campaign, ‘Thank You Mum’.
An agency stalwart, Andy featured in PR Week's Global Power Book & UK Power Book 2016-2019. His last three appointments were (or became) newly created positions, evolving his role at H+K Strategies to become the agency’s first Global Head of Sports Marketing & Sponsorship, where he led a high-performance team that was named Sports Agency of the Year for its work during the landmark year of 2012. In 2019 Andy was headhunted by Creative Artists Agency (CAA) to become their first International Head of Brand Consulting.
Today, Andy runs his own brand marketing & communications consultancy; is a Board Advisor to tech starts-ups and BUCS; a Non-Exec Director of a change management business; a member of the BAME 2020/No Turning Back movement; a qualified Executive Business Coach; and a Careers & Enterprise Advisor.
