Every year at the Sport Industry Awards, in addition to the hotly contested award categories there are a collection of special Judges’ Awards which recognise individuals and organisations within sport who have contributed at the highest level through personal and professional achievements.

The recipients are decided following many hours of debate, deliberation, and consultation in order to best recognise the remarkable achievements of these illustrious names. As with all the Sport Industry Awards, the selection process for the winners is fully overseen by our independent adjudicators.

The Outstanding Contribution to Sport Award recognises an individual, team or organisation whose actions have had a major impact on the sporting world. The list of previous winners has one thing in common – they are united by sheer size and impact of their contribution, be it on or off the pitch. The winner will belong as an equal to those that have gone before, helping to shape the positive evolution of sport as an inspiration and a role model.

In 2022, the Outstanding Contribution to Sport Award was won by Tom Daley OBE. The British diver won the nation's hearts as a 14-year-old competing in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and has since gone on to become a 5-time European champion and 4-time Commonwealth champion. But in 2021, Tom achieved the goal he had been striving for since Beijing - Olympic Gold. Tom's gold medal in the men's synchronized 10-metre platform was one of year's sporting highlights.

Daley has been an inspiration within the LGBTQ+ community, tirelessly working to ensure sport becomes a place for everyone. His Gold medal held more than just sporting significance, it became a beacon of hope for others.

The Integrity and Impact Award in association with InsightX recognises individuals or organisations across the globe that have demonstrated through their actions exemplary levels of ethics, integrity, and trust in sport to help set global standards for best practice in sport governance and business.

In 2022 the award was given to Athlead Founder and CEO, Kat Craig, who accepted on behalf of a number of individuals and organisations who were instrumental in the evacuation of the Afghan Women's National football team and other vulnerable female athletes from Kabul in the autumn of 2021.
