The Barclays FA Women’s Super League has released its launch film ahead of the new campaign, which kicks off on Friday 3rd September.
Enlisting the league’s biggest stars for a new ad spot entitled It’s All Kicking Off, the players show up for a photo shoot before launching into a chaotic game of football and wrecking the studio itself.

Launched by The FA in collaboration with London-based sports marketing agency Dark Horses and production company Great Guns, the new creative concept focuses on the entertainment value of the league, as well as showcasing its players in their roles as some of the country’s most elite professional athletes.
The season kicks off on Friday 3rd September, when Manchester United face Reading before the opening weekend’s biggest clash between champions Chelsea and Arsenal on 5th September.
The uplift in coverage is in line with the new broadcast deals which are in place ahead of the new WSL season, with Sky Sports and the BBC screening games from the league each week.
The FA signed a ‘landmark’ multi-million pound deal with the two broadcasters in March 2021, which will see the league continue to be screened on free-to-air TV as well as on Sky as one of its ‘flagship offerings’.
