New HSBC documentary highlights issues faced by women in sport

HSBC has launched a new documentary, Finding Her Voice, which aims to capture the reality of being a woman in the sports industry.  

The documentary features Danielle ‘Nolli’ Waterman, a former world champion and a pioneer of women’s rugby, who opens up on her ambition to help drive change, and create opportunity for girls and women within sport.
 
Speaking about her experience of ending her career rugby and swapping it for sports commentary - on the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series - Waterman takes viewers through the emotional journey, sharing the highs and lows of being a woman working in sports media.  

Exploring the reality of her position, her exposure to online trolling - particularly when commentating on men’s rugby matches - the documentary brings home the impact this has on mental health and wellbeing, as well as discussing Waterman’s hope that she can inspire change by putting herself out there and being visible to young girls.

The film was produced for HSBC by the Sports department at H+K Strategies and Blonde Ambition Media.
