In order to launch Manchester City’s new home kit, manufacturer Puma has released a new film celebrating the city’s Northern Quarter.
The new kit features a mosaic design that the sportswear brand says is in homage to the mosaics of Manchester’s vibrant creative Northern Quarter hub, with the design featuring prominently in the city’s history. The brand has also pointed out that mosaics adorned the gates of Maine Road - City’s home ground between 1923 and 2003.
The new spot pays homage to what Puma calls ‘a city brimming with football and creativity,’ while the new kit aims to inspire the next generation of City players, whose daily routine sees them walk past club legends immortalized in mosaic artworks at the City Football Academy.
City will wear the kit for the first time when they play Arsenal in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on Saturday 18th July.
