Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s Wrexham takeover is set to be finalised, after the club’s fans voted in favour of the move.

The club, which has been in fan ownership since 2011, could be set for a £2 million investment from the Hollywood stars - as well as a Netflix documentary charting the club’s fortunes under new ownership - subject to league and FA approval.

Following a vote by Wrexham Supporters Trust, which saw just 26 of the 2,000 members vote against the move, the actors say they want to turn the club into a ‘global force’.

The pair also filmed a short, tongue-in-cheek video posted on the club’s social media channels, with a message to the National League side’s sponsors, Ifor Williams Trailors.
