Zapp is debuting its first live broadcast TV advert in partnership with Chelsea Football Club. Airing on Channel 4, the light-hearted advert sees Chelsea star players Mason Mount, Marcos Alonso and Kai Havertz take centre stage, with Zapp playing the supporting role of “Happy, delivered”.
Dubbed the “Zapp challenge”, the players attempt to shoot the football into a dressing room bin, with Mason Mount scoring the winning shot. To settle instantly, they choose their Zapp favourites from the Zapp app and the order is delivered in minutes by one of Zapp’s employed riders.
The new advert is part of an existing partnership that brings together the current European champions and the UK’s only 24/7 rapid delivery service. Zapp celebrates the passion that goes into football and the unique way sport brings people together.
Running for two years initially, the partnership with Chelsea F.C. extends across Chelsea Men, Women and Academy sides. The collaboration includes a number of exciting Zapp and Chelsea Football Club promotions, from player activations to exclusive fan opportunities. It is part of Zapp’s ambitious go-to-market strategy that has seen the fast-growing company build “cultural relevance” by partnering with some of the world's biggest sports and live music franchises.
“We’re excited to debut our first live broadcast TV advert, with the ‘Zapp challenge’ putting a playful spin on our winning partnership with Chelsea F.C. At Zapp, we’re focussed on delivering for our customers in minutes, 24/7 - from half-time snacks and refreshments to the final whistle after party, Zapp and matchday are fast becoming synonymous,” says Steve O’Hear, Zapp’s Vice President of Strategy.
